How big is the dwiss?

The dwiss is 41cm wide, 65cm in height (101cm with the lid open) and 43cm deep. Due to the curved lid please allow a further 7cm in depth to enable the lid to open.

How do I clean my dwiss?

Simply wipe your dwiss clean with a damp cloth and the composting tub can go in the dishwasher. A bit of furniture polish won't do it any harm but do not use heavy duty cleaning products, scrubbing brushes or wire pads as these will damage the protective finish. Avoid standing water in any of the compartments and don't leave your dwiss where it will be wet for an extended period.

How do I recycle?

Recycling is about using materials that you no longer require as raw materials for new products and services. This is what the Circular Economy is all about - see below.

How you should recycle depends on your local authority's approach to recycling as they're the next step in the process. As such the best thing to do is to head to your local authority's website where they'll have plenty of information about how you should recycle. E.g. Some local authorities ask you to separate your different waste types (glass, plastic, tin etc) while others will ask you to mix the various types and they'll sort it. It will also tell you what to recycle, e.g. plastic bottles but not plastic food trays (as they're made from different types of plastic). Please follow your local authority's approach so that you don't contaminate materials that can be recycled with those that can't, as this results in none of the material being recycled.

If you have any further questions please get in touch via the Contact page.

What is the Circular Economy?

Our current 'linear' economy uses virgin resources and carbon energy (such as electricity generated by burning coal, which releases carbon dioxide into the atmosphere) to make products that we use and then dispose of. The Circular Economy is concerned with using sustainable resources (e.g. recycled plastic) to make products using renewable energy (such as electricity generated by wind farms), that we use-repair-use and then recycle. For further information please visit the Ellen Macarthur Foundation.

How long will it take to deliver my dwiss?

The dwiss is a handmade piece of kitchen furniture that requires a lot of skill and a little time to produce. We make them in small batches so we may have some in stock, in which case our delivery time is 5-20 working days depending on where we are shipping to. If your dwiss will be made as part of our next batch then the delivery time will be 8-12 weeks. Your colour choice can also affect your delivery time. We will try to get your dwiss to you as quickly as possible and will keep you informed of when you can expect to receive it. If you would like a more accurate delivery time please, or have any special delivery requirements, please get in touch via the Contact page.
